Metchosin/Victoria, BC
Contact: Liisa Robinson, Counsellor: 250 858-4265
My name is Liisa Robinson and I am a therapist and yoga teacher in Metchosin on the beautiful westshore of Vancouver Island. My office in Metchosin is private and connected with nature which on some days, for some folks is best. I also have an office available in town (Quadra) which is more accessible, which on some days, for some folks is best.
I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Victoria in 2004. I am currently working at Camosun College as a Counsellor. I am registered in the province of BC as a Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. My Masters work was in the area of family / couples counselling, specifically working with diverse / non-traditional families.
Much of my work has been with adults, both at UVic (for 12 years) and at the Citizens’ Counselling Centre where I coordinated the 1829 project, a program designed to better the experience that young adults have with counselling.
I have been involved in the Victoria community for many years, working at a variety of community agencies. One of the most meaningful was my work at the BC Eating Disorders association where I co-facilitated the Women’s support group and was a member of the Board of Directors.
I have always believed in the power of talk therapy. There is something magical which happens when time, space, intention and some skills come together to do personal work. I have also found that the body is a wise messenger and that body awareness can help bring a holistic approach to the counselling setting. It was this awareness in my own life which lead me to pursue an active yoga practice and complete my yoga teacher training as a complement to traditional (western) therapeutic approaches.
I look forward to working with you.
