GET OUT CABARET
Oh boy, we’re excited for Get OUT Cabaret at Intrepid’s Metro Studio Theatre. This is the official preview night for OUTstages, Victoria’s own queer theatre festival that runs in late June, and it’s a great chance to get a sneak peek at what’s in store for next month. Hosted by Vivian Vanderpuss and Eddi Licious, it’s bound to be a wild time – get your tickets at Intrepid during the week or order them online at Ticket Rocket.
CRUSH 15 If you’re in the mood to groove, CRUSH 15 has you covered – in glitter, that is. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to rumble to some fantastic mixes from DJs Daradata and Thomas Promise. This event is 19+, and there is a suggested donation of $5-10.
QUEER AS FUNK If you’ve never seen Vancouver band Queer as Funk play live, their Spring Fling fundraiser is your chance. If (like us) you’ve seen them multiple times over, you know exactly what kind of fun you’re getting into. SEX POSITIVE BOOK CLUB Sexuality Salon is hosting another Sex Positive Book Club and this month they’re reading Ask: Building a Consent Culture, an anthology edited by Kutty Stryker. EVES OF DESTRUCTION: ROTTEN APPLES, HARD CORES DOUBLEHEADER Roller derby season was off to a fantastic start for the Eves of Destruction, with the Margarita Villains and The Hard Cores bringing home two wins back in April. We’re ready for more, and the Rotten Apples and The Hard Cores are ready to deliver. The Rotten Apples will be facing off against Saltspring Island’s The Tempest, and The Hard Cores are returning to go head-to-head with the Aftershocks Roller Rebels. Games are at 5:30 and 7:30pm at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.

NACHOS NIGHT The Chair in Transgender Studies is hosting their monthly Nachos Night for all trans, non-binary and two-spirit folks at the University Club on the UVic campus. You don’t need to be a student to attend, just bring yourself. Costs are partially covered by the Chair.
I love my male friends to pieces, but their group dynamics have been fascinating to observe over the years. If there’s anything I’ve found, it’s that when it comes to threats against their masculinity, straight cisgender men are so delicate it would be hilarious if it weren’t so horrifying.
